**New for 2015: the Billy Loutit Duathlon can now be completed as an individual OR as a team.

Run 5 km/Bike 20 km/Run 5 km

Run
Athletes travel the same route for both running legs.  The runs start from Athabasca Landing Pool and travel 1 km over pavement to the Muskeg Creek Trails and continue on the wide forested trails and rolling hills for the specified distance. The course will be marked and aide stations will be on the route.

Bike
The bike course will travel from Athabasca Landing Pool west on 49th Ave to 55th St where cyclists will turn
north and travel towards Hwy 2. They will then cross traffic at the intersection of 55th St and Hwy 2 and travel west out of Athabasca on Hwy 2 towards Baptiste Lake.  Cyclists will turn around at a designated turn around location at the intersection of Hwy 2 and Rge Rd 234 and return to the pool/transition area.

You will be travelling in mixed traffic so please use caution on the roadways, be respectful of other cyclists, and
obey rules of the road.
>Turnarounds will be clearly marked and complete with an aide station.
>Drafting will not be permitted.
>It is up to the participant to ensure that his or her bicycle is in proper working condition.
>ANSI/SNELL/CSA approved helmets are mandatory.

Transition zone
All transitions will take place outside the Athabasca Landing Pool. Bike racks will be supervised.
